Conroe problems

Spec:

Gigabyte DS3
1024 geil 6400
e6300
antec 480 neopower psu

sometimes i gets to the bios screen - counts ram and does nothing else, other times it won't boot. Also the cpu fan spins up - goes off then spins up again (then boots and stays on).

The turning off then on again is a feature of the DS3, it checks the bios settings before booting i believe, mine does it from a completly cold boot after reset

Not sure about the other problem. I did have a breif problem tht was similar in that if i rebooted with the cd drive spinning up it would stay spinning thru reboot cycle and the bios wouldn't load.

Well IF I can get it to post it just sits there after it's counted the ram :/
