Hi, the computer is needed for all the basic stuff, internet, word processing, but also for gaming. This will be the first time I have ever built a computer, and I am not sure if I am ever likely to overclock, as I do not really know anything about it. My budget is about £1000. I have come up with the following:
Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB) - OEM (CP-137-IN) - £164.44
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775) (HS-017-AR) - £17.57
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-061-GI) - £111.57
Corsair 2GB DDR2 Value Select PC4200 Dual Channel Kit (2x1GB) (VS2GBKIT533D2) (MY-096-CS) - £128.02
Connect3D ATI Radeon X1800 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-044-CO) - £149.17
Seasonic S12 500W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply (CA-001-SS) - £76.32
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-079-SE) - £61.75
OcUK Value Floppy Drive - Black (HD-001-OK) - £6.99
NEC ND4570 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-030-NE) - £25.79
Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS Black Aluminium Midi-Tower Case (No PSU) (CA-054-LL) - £57.52
Logitech Cordless Desktop EX-110 - Retail (KB-072-LG) - £21.09
OcUK Value Hanns-G HC194D 19" LCD Monitor - Silver/Black (MO-019-OK) - £129.19
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition inc. SP2 - OEM - 1Pk (N09-01528) (OS-001-MS) - £61.04
Total = £1010.47
Is everything alright with this? or are there any parts I can improve, without spending too much. I was also wondering, are all these parts likely to come with all the cables they require, or would I need to buy any separately? Thanks.
