Hey guys, I'm going to be ordering parts for my Conroe system tommorow, I'm on a budget so I'm going for bang for buck and looking to overclock. I'm going for an E6300 Conroe, I've chosen the Gigabyte DS3 motherboard because it's cheap on This Week Only and I've heard it's a good clocker (450fsb+), I'm also in the market for cheap at least 667mhz DDR2 ram. It's between the G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5400 (2x1GB) for 129 or the GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit for 117. At the moment it's gonna be the Geil because it's cheapest.
Is the gigabyte DS3 a good motherboard to go for or does anyone have any other recommendations. I'm looking to get at least 2.8ghz out of my Conroe.
I've heard that the only problem with this motherboard is memory compatibility issues, with certain ram the thing doesnt clock well at all, is there any known compatibility problems with the Geil ram? Thanks.

guess it inherits some SPD values from the geil and is less stressed than on its own. Long story short, all my geil RAM works fine with the DS3, my gskill ram won't even boot on its own without first setting the voltage with the Geil. Maybe the LA is better.
