I've been wanting to upgrade my computer for a while now and think since conroe is nearly here its time to place my order. I was wondering if you guys could have a look through and give me any suggestions to the spec I am thinking of buying. I also would like some advice on what you think the best CPU cooler for conroe is. This is the spec so far:

Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-152-AS) £176.19

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN) £252.57

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NR PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBNR) £135.07

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-112-SP) £260.79

Samsung SpinPoint T HD400LJ 400GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-032-SA) £101.64

LG GSA-H10ABAL 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-043-LG) £24.62

Enermax Liberty 500W ELT500AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CA-025-EN) £70.44

Thermaltake VA3000SWA Tsunami Dream SuperMidi Aluminium Tower - Silver (CA-011-TT) £79.84

Total = £1097

Anything you guys would change as I have a little more in my budget if you think anything is lacking? Another question I have is regarding price and availability. I'm off on holiday this weekend only for a few weeks so I get back just in time for the release do you think its wise to buy now and avoid the heavy rush or do you think the prices will drop somewhat and its worth waiting until end of July early August?

Any comments appreciated

Cheers Chris

From what ive seen on XS and other forums, that motherboard does not come with a conroe enabled bios.

That means that you must have a socket 775 chip that the motherboard supports with its shipping bios (older P4's and Celerons i guess), so that you can flash the newer bios and then finally place your Conroe chip on it.

If you have no older 775 chips, or can't be arsed with the hassle, then i would suggest a different board, that supports conroe from the offset (with no bios upgrades)
