Hi guys,

Am on the verge of ordering the rest of my first upgrade in a couple of years (yes i've slipped on my obsessive upgrading ;)) to go with the Conroe E6600 i already have on preorder, and am hoping for some input into my build. What i'm looking for in this machine is quiet foremost and maybe a little bit of overclocking, 2.8-3.0ghz seems reasonable if review samples are to be believed.

So I'm just not too sure about the motherboard and cpu cooler really.. the Badaxe should be good, but then i'm concerned about the mosfet cooling issues that might arise from having a cpu heatsink with a sidemounted fan like the Scythe - which raises another potential issue with one of these heatsinks, will it fit under the Lian Li's cpu cooler ducting thing okay?

Anyway here's my shopping cart as it stands, also if i've forgotten anything feel free to point it out (for example i think i may need a few 3 to 4 pin adaptors for the fans as OcUK only seem to sell 3 pin fans these days and i can't imagine plugging 3 x 120mm case fans into the motherboard is possible let alone healthy).

Well I'm not an expert with the things you mentioned. But one thing I've noticed is that you've opted for the 600W S12. If you want it.. Then get it, but I'm pretty sure the 500W S12 will be more than sufficient.

Well i figure for the £17 difference or so its not going to do any harm to have the extra 100W available to me and if i decide to go SLI in the future its nice to have.

Cool, you're still confident the Badaxe is the way forward then?

Now all i need is Yewen to mosey over here and give me some advice on the S80 front.
