Whats a safe voltage to use on vcore. I managed to get my E6600 up to 3GHz but can't pass the small fft test in SP2004 Orthos/ prime95. Vcore is currently on just under 1.35V. Is it safe to increase it anymore? get about 50 degrees on full load with ninja heatsink on air. Gets past blend test but can't pass small fft on full load.

Gigabyte DS4 board. At the moment testing in SP2004 Orthos / prime 95 with cpu on full load its stable at 1.328V core voltage with E6600 at 3GHz, but on full load temps are at 60 degrees max and average at around 58 degrees on full load, idle getting around 28 degrees. I don't know if i put my ninja heatsink and fan with it on carefully enough i'm using artic silver 5 on it surely temps should be a lot less. Any suggestions?

man i have the same questions as u.

im running a 6600 with a ninja on a Ds3 mobo.
i get about 55 full load on orthos. im tryin to overclock more. but wonderiong what voltages to use etc. and what mem timings and devider to use.

need assistance..

Coretemp says core#1 is 43 degrees core#2 is 41 degrees idle. On full load core#1 and #2 are at 62 degrees. Is this ok? Suggestions?

To be honest that sounds about right. I'm just running orthos on mine now and its at 1.525 volts running at 3.6 ghz under water and I'm getting 53-58'c and thats with a top end watercooled system.

Basically if your concered that your heatsink is not working then just feel it. Does it feel hot? feel the heatpipe? If it does then its doing the job.

Ok thanks it feels hot so guess its ok. What temperature do you think would be safe to overclock to safely on air?

60'c is fine for prime load temps. Under normal conditions it will be lower.

Just get the chip prime stable at 1:1 memory and you will be sorted.

what OC settings did u use asgard for 3.6.

fsb.
vcore
mem timings
devider?
dimm volts.

sounds like a nice overclock.

FSB 400
Vcore 1.525 for prime stable which actuall equated to 1.475 with vdroop.
mem 4-4-4-12 running 1:1
divider = cant change P5W DH
dimm volts 2.0

will actually prime at 410 FSB which is nearly 3.7

Its a week 27 chip

Wanna see some screenies, ta.

I read somewere that Intel had said 1.55v was the absolute maxiumum v core for the conroe/allandale chips and that will probably be on water..
