Conroes: 2 or 4mb cache clock better?

Is there any difference in the overclocking capability between the conroes with 2 and 4mb caches? Some comments I've seen seem to infer the 2mb ones are better, but that might just be me reading too much into things.

Nothing I have seen but it could be that the extra 2Mb cache creates a little more heat which can mean it fials the overclock sooner as it will run hotter

The big downside to a E6300 and E6400 is the low multiplier of 7x/8x

The best mobo there is struggles to go over 425Mhz FSB so with a E6300 that means a max clockspeed of 2975Mhz, well below what the CPU is capable of.

I was almost about to buy the E6400. Does this mean the E6600 is a better purchase then as I always end up clocking my CPU's in the end and want as long a life from it as possible?

I'm a bit out of the loop in terms of stuff like this...

E6600 are the best clocking, and you will get a long enough life to see you to your next big upgrade

If you keep it as stock volts it should last a long time.
