tmac - Hey there. I have two of these conroeXfire boards. My small project is to use them only for protein folding. So my specs dont need to be too great.
I have a E6300, 1gb OCZ memory, a cheap pci-express video card. I am still waiting on the video card, so I cannot tell you how it performs yet.
But This is a budget system that will allow me to reach a stable overclock of one or two speed grades higher than what I paid for.
Folding really stresses out the cpu and system and therefore I need to reach an overclock that is stable for the project. Many reports suggest with this board, we should be able to reach about 2.5Ghz, and 2.6/7 ghz when using a E6400.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I am using a Skyth Ninja Plus HSF, as I want to overclock, and keep the cpu as cool as possible. This is a great heat sink and fan combo.!
I hope this helps a little, going on from all the reports and the sheer craze that has followed the Hype of the Conroe, you should be very happy with your new setup.
The GSkill memory is also a good choice. However keep in mind that you will only get a certain amount of overclocking from this board, please dont expect anything like the Gigabyte / Intel Bad Axe boards, they are in another league.

Good Luck.
