Cons of a PC7+?

I've heard wonders about this case, and it's definitely top of my list, but surely there must be some negatives to it?

And also what alternatives should I consider, for similar price range £80 tops I think, the less plastic the better, NO DOOR, and nothing huge.

I did have my heart set on the new V600, which is supposedly available in trickles in the UK, but was a little put off by it possibly being a little cramped in there and thus maybe poor airflow through? It also seems to limit my choice in heatsinks quite a lot, so maybe it's not a clocker's case...

Hmm. Thanks for any input. :)

Downsides to the PC7+.

-Motherboard plate will bend inwards a little, nothing major and certainly not show stopping.
-Plastic feet on the case. :(
-Hard Drive cage is only for 3, and slighly weak until you put some drives in, able to buy a expansion kit to up the storage to 5 on the cage though. :)

That is personally all I see wrong with it, does not come with a Lian Li Stealth bezel either, but for the price the case is unbeatable.

Akasa Eclipse, Soprano, Wavemaster and Praetorian are its competition, and only the Eclipse beats it comfortably at anything, but it looks really; really ugly!

Thanks for the reply Yewen :)

I'd only be ever having a maximum of 2 hard drives in it, so expansion shouldn't be an issue, and I may well invest in a bezel or two, although I don't mind the look of bare drive faces showing. I think I certainly prefer the look of the Lian Li over the others you mention, I've just noticed a similar looker, the Silverstone TJ04, what do you think of that?

Yewen is right about that. Thse are the only problems I had with mine when doing the build, apart for a little hick up I had with a motherboard pillar and screw, but thats another story.

I've got 4 HDD's running in my quite happily 2 in the HDD cage and another 2 in the floppy bay.

TJ04 is not in the same league as the PC7+, not built quite as well and at the level of money being exchanged here the quality let down really does have a habbit of showing when in direct comparisson, good case but its main issue is that Lian Li have the PC7+ if you get what I am saying. :)

The PC7+'s front looks right aswell, the TJ04 in my opinion looks out of proportion in person.

Its got a huge user base on these forums, and not had this thread bombarded with people with horror stories, they are about the best case you can get arguably for under £100, depends what angle you argue and what is important to you really.

One thing I don't think anyone will argue about is how good value for money the case is, offers you a case that punches with the £100+ cases for build quality, but then comes bottom of class, but with the price 1/3 or more of those cases.

It is not the best case at anything it does, not the best cooler sub £100, or the best looker, its not the best built either as the v600 is, but it comes a close second everytime for me personally. Other cases are up and down, the Lian Li is across the board probably the best case for the majority of people.

Simple to use cooling, well built, not liable to show age, the design is timeless so wont go out of fashion, has excellent cooling able to run anything in one, Lian Li have a very good support which generally gets things done if a little slowly.

Brilliant case overall.

The negative on the PC7+ for me was theres no removable mobo tray :( **swift edit-ignore** but apart from that good case, well built comes with a good price tag too. :)

How could that cause your motherboard to short?

The motherboard is on risers, and will not make contact with the back plate, will be fine once installed it is only usually during motherboard installation that you notice it flexing a little.

The only cons i can see with mine are the plastic feet, and the side panels are loose even when tightened up with thumb screws. Other than that its a decent case and well worth the price tag.
