I'm fine with binning off national insurance over time (I always thought NI and income tax should be combined to simplify things) but I need to know what will happen to the state pension calculation which is currently based on NI years because I'm trying to plan ahead for retiring as early as possible.

I don't like that they're binning stamp duty only for first time buyers. I think stamp duty should be binned for everyone because currently it discourages these behaviours which should be encouraged:
- moving to further your career
- moving to downsize after the kids have left home
- moving to care for elderly parents

I think the Rwanda plan isn't going to work, huge waste of money.

As a higher rate tax payer, I want that bracket moving to where it should have been had it gone up in line with inflation.

I don't like the process, parties with zero chance of winning saying what they will do if they win, what a waste of everyone's time.

There's no reason the mechanism of eligibility to benefits/pension would need to change. Payroll/Self Assessment records you earn over a certain amount (the LEL) and records a tick in your box. That you wouldn't pay any NI is irrelevant, as you don't actually need to now anyway, as the LEL is under the threshold you start paying.

Who knows whether they would implement a different solution or not though.

No thanks, they could have the best manifesto ever and it would make no difference to me. Why would anyone believe the Conservative party after they squandered their massive mandate? I'd rather vote Reform.
