Hi, i've been toying with the idea of adding a bit more graphics horsepower to my ageing system as it is starting to struggle @1920x1080 but i'm not sure if i'll still struggle with the likes of battlefield bad company 2 on a dual core system.
Originally i thought of trying to pick up a second hand 4870 and p45/x38 motherboard but thats just more hassle than its worth really as i'd realisitcally be forking out £100 for not much of an upgrade due to the 4870 being 512mb and not 1gb.
So i know people don't like the 5830 but i'm starting to think this card may be the best upgrade without spending an unreasonable amount of money. A 5850 may be possible at a stretch (i know its only another £20-30 depending on model) but would it not be bottlenecked by the cpu?
Any constructive opinions would be appreciated.
