Considering joining the Navy. Anyone got any tips/experience/advice?

I went into the careers office, however the guy couldn't have been less helpful if he set out to be!

None the less. Not here for a rant. Just wondered if anyone had real life experience of the Navy. Anything that I should know that's not in the brochure basically?

Make sure you consider the other careers available, including ones with the mod.
