Considering this laptop: Any known issues?

They are good quality and maybe a decent buy but personally I would want a Geforce 870m if I was paying near the 1k mark.

There are alternatives but I cant really link anything because of forum rules.

Yeah, I thought it said an 870 not a 770. I've found a few others on other sites actually, can you PM me with more suggestions?

The PM function doesn't work but some places specialise in custom laptops and they seem to come in around the 1k mark.

I got my gt60 at a good time. MSI seem to have changed the specs slightly now. I got a 4810 cpu, 870gfx, 8gb ram and 1tb 7200rpm HD for around £1k mark a few months back. Think it still costs around that to make similar now.

Yeah I dunno if I'm getting confused with another site but I seem to remember there being more than one MSI gaming laptop under £1k a few months ago... Have they just took the products off for some reason?

I don't like the idea of using custom build websites as I feel standard builds from reputable (apparently) companies are more reliable. For some reason I just can't seem to find anything with 4710+, 860m+ and 8GB+ for less than £1k... They're always lacking in one of those aspects and it seems like to go up to the next step adds on at least £150...

Annoying really.

The only issues I've heard of from the ROG g750 is USB problems on the right hand side of the machine and driver issues relating to the GPU which will give you random BSOD. Check our ROG forums as they're normally littered with praises/complaints....

I have one but with the 860m

Very impressed. I change gaming laptop each year or less and I took a leap of faith with this. The 860m version appears to be OC'd by asus and so far, its a great performer. I dont know if OCers stock the 860m version but I got it for around £800.

I was looking at £1k for something with a 870m but this was a tempting deal. Glad I went for it, Ive always found Asus laptops to be good quality.

It smudges easily, but its quiet, performs well (SSD of course) and is well made. Good network card, great sounds (speakers are good, something you dont get often). Overall, it suited my needs and runs my usual games well, Arma 2/3, Payday 2 etc etc

Hi there

OCUK have sold out of most of our range (which is a good thing). The reason why they have not much stock at the moment is that Nvidia are updating their GPU and this will be available from the 7th, so keep an eye out for some new cracking NB's from tomorrow :)

I've decided I'm not going to get the laptop I originally posted because the GPU is lower than I thought it was.

Thanks, ARJ, appreciate the information. At least I know now! :) Do you have any idea when these will start coming to show? I've not seen any new builds on any website yet, I'm assuming this could come around towards the end of the week once Nvidia have released details to respective hardware companies?

Hi Barrel

I will be suggesting some NB's to OCUK early next week. Gibbo is usually very quick, so I would say before the end of next week, we will have some NB's under 1k :)

Hope this helps
