OK, this could start a fanboy war, but it isn't meant to, but hopefully will spark some good discussion.

One of the biggest complaints about the PS3 was always its lack of exclusives (not something i would agree with, but there you go). Anyhoo, do people still think this stands? Does the PS3 still have a lack of exclusives? IMO the PS3 exclusives/exclusive IP's are better than the xbox 360 ones.

Right now i have restarted InFamous, and by God this game is good. Looks pretty, plays well, it is awesomeness, and should be a contender for game of the year IMO. There is also Uncharted 2 which will likely win game of the year. That is 2 original IP's for the PS3 (i know Uncharted 2 is a sequel lol)

And with Heavy Rain, GoW3, Mod Nation Racers, MAG and GT5 coming next year on the PS3, it doesn't seem like slowing down either. Which is a great thing imo, cos the more games the better :D

So do you think the PS3 has better exclusives/IP's than the xbox 360, or the other way around? Personally the only exclusives on console game the 360 has that really interests me is the L4D series, crackdown and possibly Alan Wake (but not enough info about this still).

*I bet Abooie will come along with some obscure RPG's that are exclusive on 360 lol :p

Mass Effect, Gears of war, Fable and Alan wake are what I consider to be the best IPs on 360

I can name more exclusive IPs on PS3 future and Past that interest me.

And so I would agree with you JUMPURS.

I have just bought a PS3 (already have a 360) as I want to be able to play FF13versus, as well as Uncharted, Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4. Both consoles are pretty equal imo as far as exclusive titles go.

I've never understood the 'lack of exclusives' argument for the PS3.

God Of War
Gran Turismo
MGS
inFamous
Killzone
LittleBigPlanet
Uncharted
Resistance
Ratchet and Clank...

The list goes on...

The 360 also has a strong list of exclusives, often mirroring the PS3's list but with their own IP so it comes down to which you prefer.

I.E. GT or Forza.
Killzone or GoW

Indeed, both seem to be doing very well..

No need to really say much more then that, unless you really are trying to push a fanboy view..

I've noticed many people swaying towards the PS3s exclusives lately, personally i feel it's just because the PS3 has had a better year for exclusives this time around. On the whole they're pretty equal, but i have found i've played a good portion of the 360 ones on the PC instead.

I prefer the PS3 exclusives but that's just my preference. The main issue for me with the Xbox exclusives it that most of them come to the PC so I can play those anyway.

As a 360 owner since launch I think the PS3 has the better exclusives, gears should have been the new xbox desirable title to get the punters flooding in but they ****ed it up again and now it's actually fixed no one cares anymore.

I don't think the 360 has many decent exclusives anymore, the ones that do come along haven't really interested me personally or they **** up.

I would have jumped ship except If it wasn't for the money I've spent under this gamer tag on extra content. It really isn't worth changing this generation.

Looking through my games played 137 this gen, I can't actually see that many exclusives for the 360 that didn't latter come out on other systems.

Gears
Viva pinata
Halo wars
Mass Boredom
Forza
PGR

None of those stand above equivalents in my opinion.

So I mainly play dual format games anyway, luckily most of these have been slightly better on the 360 but not enough that I would notice.

I'd have been happy with either system tbh and If the PS3 had launched first I'd likely be a PS3 owner right now.

With a 12 month headstart (16 in the UK) the 360 had a big advantage with console exclusive games as you would expect. With MS getting rid of several first party Studios and Rare stuck on Natal/NXE Duty for a few years there output from first party have decreased letting the far larger first and second party devs for the PS3 to some what catch up. For example 2 of the biggest 360 exclusive RPGs T.O.V and S.O.4 coming out with an upgraded PS3 versions show that the market is at a point where third party publishers are seeing that to make profits exclusive games are not best for them unless a large bundle of cash is "gifted".
As for excluisives themselves i would say for the last 2 years the PS3 has had the best exclusive games, with Uncharted 2, LBP, Demon Souls and MGS4 winning many accolades. Personally if all i had to play was PS3 exclusive games all this year i would be a happy gamer, with the 360 the only exclusive game i really enjoyed was Forza 3.
Next year i see the 360 having a far better software line up than the last 2 years with Halo Reach being the biggest exclusive game of next year, just out selling GT5. At the moment we dont know much about either 360 or PS3 winter line up 2010 so most is conjecture, but hopefully both will have an awesome winter line up to go along side the great Q1 we are going to have.

MS need to make better use of those buzzer games as well, scene it doesn't cut it depite having nice buzzers.

Every family I know has a cupboard full of PS2 buzz titles.

Scene it is **** in comparison. They could clean up if they got their fingers out.

The PS3 redeemed the last lousy four years with Demon's Souls alone in my humble opinion. The console went from the black sheep to being my favorite and most-played.

I know there's other games like Uncharted 2 and all that, I think they're all brilliant. It's just that one particular game that flicked a switch in the back of my consciousness and reawakened my appeal in a way that hasn't happened since the good old days of the Dreamcast. It would take something astronomical to divert my attention away from it now.

Everyone loves to plonk their list of PS3 games down, as we can see in this thread and many others, but they're all safe sequels. You know what you're in for. They're the games that constantly come up in discussion and it's generally accepted even before they come out that they're going to be the games to get, the standard flag bearers. So you never truly reach that level of excitement.

It's all rather boring. There's only so many times we can hear Halo, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Project Gotham. Please. I've been hearing them for years and years now! It's an all-too-familiar landscape that I'm surprised more people aren't sick of the same old same old now.

God Of War
Gran Turismo
MGS
inFamous
Killzone
LittleBigPlanet
Uncharted
Resistance
Ratchet and Clank...

Only two of these games aren't safe formulaic sequels for example. Xbox 360 is even worse.

Does it not bore you all?

I really need to get Demon's Souls, I keep hearing such good things and I keep telling myself I'm going to buy it!

I prefer the 360 overall, but find games that are PS3 exclusives like Uncharted to be extremely well done, and very classy.

Yes and no. Gran Turismo bores me slightly for example, it's just the same formula with jazzed up graphics and a few different cars, nothing changes. That doesn't stop it from being good mind, and i will buy it, but i'll always yearn for that 'new' title you speak of. I view games like GT as a stop-gap between the important games.

But then games like God of War where there is a story yet to be completed, those don't bore me at all. I love good storylines in computer games and if an epic one such as this spans across several games then all the better. This only applies to planned stories though, if they're just drawing it out for the sake of it it's just as bad. From the very beginning God of War was going somewhere and it hinted at it all the way, in the cursed temple in GoW1 for example there's murals of Zeus battling 'a mortal', it was 'destiny'. The perfect example of this is the Legacy of Kain series which has the most complex and involving storyline i've ever experienced in a computer game, the gameplay was lacking in a few titles but that need to know what happens to the protagonists (or in many cases the antagonist in disguise) completely overshadowed its shortcomings. It's such a shame the story will probably never be completely finished.

I also personally think the ps3 has had better exclusives in the last year. The problem though with owning a PS3 and 360 is I and many friends still totally dismiss the ps3 for multiplatform titles preferring to play them over Live.

Other than the price this is still the main difference between the consoles. Using a PS3 online seems crippled compared to the xbox.

If you want to be empirical and compare the exclusives from both formats go to gamerankings and get the top 10 xbox exclusive scores vs the top 10 ps3 exclusive scores.
