Hi there,

I'm considering buying a Playstation 3 which would be displayed on a Samsung 226BW screen, the only thing i'm a bit concerned with is image quality.

Where with the PC the image quality is superb, since the resolution is running at its optimal. With a console will the resolution be downgraded from 1680x1050, resulting in blocky images etc?

Nice to hear from someone that uses there's like this.

Cheers
Trox

(This screen is meant to be HDCP compliant, although it has no HDMI port:confused:)

I was running a PS3 on my 22" Pebble and it was awful it only runs at 720p which is then scaled up to 1680x1050.

It just looked crap... now have a 24" and no PS3, the world is a better place!

I'm using my 360 on my 20" Pebble at the moment and its fine =/ (with a vga cable) it's been moved from a 26" samsung HDTV. To use the ps3 with the monitor you will need an hdmi>dvi cable then something to accept the audio output (optical).

Thing is tho 360 has VGA which allows you to use the optimal res while the PS3 only lets you use 1280x720 or 1920x1080 which is no good :/

Cheers for the replies, i guess it ain't that great for it then :/

I've been checking out some vids online with people using the sammy 226BW with the PS3 and it does look good, but i guess seeing it in the flesh is another matter.
