console price cuts ?

That 'pun' was just awful. Most consoles are at fairly low prices right now such as the Xbox 360 if you shop around.

Christmas is probably the only time you will see a price cut this late into the year. If you can wait for that, then wait.

What console are you after?

I'm thinking of buying a console soon, but shall i hold off for a wee
( pun intended lol) in case there are price cuts ?

I'm glad you wrote pun intended because I don't think my tiny brain would have been able to comprehend the brilliance of your play on words. :p

Now, I think you should wait until January when the inevitable sales will be on and bag yourself one then.

Bought my brand spanky new PS3 last christmas mega cheap for about £200, so I bet they will do it again.

Can't see a Xbox price cut tbh since you can pick up the arcade for around £140, but you never know I guess, the wii still sells by the bucket load so I can't see any reason to cut this year unless Nintendo know something the rest of us don't? The PS3 is the most likely to see a cut but Sony annouched two more HD size models and the move bundle so I reckon a cut for that is slim at best.

prob ps3 is the main console i will use, but i do fancy the Wii as i like Mario.

i was hoping there might be prices cuts around the time of the main
European trade shows.

Doubt you'll find any price cuts for the PS3 anytime soon with possibly its biggest title just about to launch, just have to make sure you get the best value bundle.

gran turismo 5 would be this years huge ps3 title, providing they dont delay yet again

I think we've established that the only official delay has been on one occasion with a Japanese release. Polyphony Digital have never given a European release date so in terms of actual delays there has only been one in the lifespan of the development of the game. I wish people would stop saying this, especially when all the information is in the Gran Turismo 5 thread.

Don't think we will see anymore price cuts this year.

I'd imagine there will be some 360 Kinect & PS3 Move bundles when they both get released, so they might be quite competitive pricing. Unlikely to see a drop until next year, but then VAT also goes up a little. There's no good time to get one really.

Doubt there will be any price drops soon. MS have just released the price for the 250Gb Kinect bundle @ £300!

That's quite expensive. the PS3 move bundle is a lot cheaper, agree with the shooting themselves in the foot statement.

OP - if you fancy a PS3, then just buy one now. I doubt the price will drop before christmas, the move bundle will give good value and in the new year VAT goes up, so when is a good time to buy one?

I'd just get the move bundle out in a few days I think.. PS3 is a decent console, will give you many hours of fun and once you've got it, then you've got it and can be happy to just play Heavy Rain with move controls.. lol

Go on, you know you want to....:)

Ridiculous, they are missing the whole point of why the Wii was successful, it wasn't down to the gimmick - the price was a major factor. More and more by the day, Microsoft are shooting themselves in the foot with their excessive pricing.

Is that not just the RRP though?
Doesn't mean that the shops won't drop the price as they compete with each other for Xmas sales.
