I had my ps3 hooked up to my 32" 1080p tv, but I needed to connect the ps3 with a ethernet cable to my router so that meant I had to move it to where my pc is located.

Get this, I prefer playing on a monitor. Yes I prefer playing on my 24" monitor than my 32" hd tv! It sounds odd but it feels better. I'm going to get a comfy desk chair now so I can be in complete immersive comfort. WIN.

Whats your opinion everyone, do you prefer your consoles connected to your tv or your monitors?

I think the problem with playing on my tv was, I was sitting on a couch which was some distance from the tv so gaming was lacking in immersion.

Gaming on a monitor is made of win.

You sit closer to a monitor so naturally its going to feel bigger and more immersive than a tv 3m away. It will highlight bad graphics more though.

How about both?

As mentioned above, it's only just the distance that's the obvious factor, and even then it always depends on the type of game any way.

Anything really competitive like Fighting and FPS, I prefer a monitor, everything else, a nice big TV to enjoy it all.

Generally I prefer console games on a TV.. Mostly I game on a 32" Panasonic LCD TV which I find ideal for FPS games etc however I have a splitter and will use my 60" Pioneer Plasma for certain games ie racing, RPG.

24 inch monitor reclined on my desk chair with feet on the desk. I find playing shooters I can see everything focusing on the center of the screen. I find I'm panning around if I use a larger screen even if I'm sat further back.

Driving games I prefer on a much larger screen though, so it depends on the game but usually I'm shooting something so prefer a monitor.

I have an Xbox set up on both my 47" LCD and my 22" monitor, so I game on both. I tend to prefer the TV mainly, as my comfy couch is better than my comfy office chair, but I love playing it on the monitor while watching Sky Sports on the 2nd 22" monitor I have for the PC.
