Can I ask what it is that makes Xbox360's Live a prefered online experience? when compared to PS3's online facilities?

Whats Sony PS3 lacking?

What does Sony's PS3 have that needs improving?

And is there something that the Xbox360 has thats untouchable? Is it a Nostaligic Xbox following? or is it actually just MILES BETTER. If so why.

Also with the release of Home for the PS3, How many people see this as being the hard hitting competition Xbox 360's live has needed.

Debate away. Just don't spoil it with trolling, And blatent fanboyism. :)

To be honest the PS online does the job. That is about all that can be said about it.
What you get:
A friends list
Online Multiplayer with first party titles supporting up to 40 players with dedicated servers, which also gives less lag.
Text Messaging
Voice and video chat
and it is free.

What it does need is:
Access to the friends list with the PS button.
Messages available from within the game.
Better support for voice chat (Saying that, it supports text chat very well, which is something i have always thought the xbox could have been doing with)
Better tools for Dev's to give things like online co-op. Hopefully we will see what UBISOFT have done with GRAW2 and RS:V soon.

For a free service i honestly don't think many could complain, i know 1 or 2 who will though, but they need to experience it.
To be honest if it added the above i would be happy, and i think 99% of people would be happy too.

If i had to pick just one service between xbox live and PS3 i personally would pick PS3 as it is free and handles multiplayer, just a wee bit better imo

Also the thing i feel is, Sony are constantly working and adding features to the PS3/PS network. When the PS3 launched in the states there was a new firmware every week for about 3 weeks. I think there have been 7 updates to the system so far? and everyone is just expecting more and more.
I think the 360 has had what 3 in the year it has been out? Sure maybe it means there where problems with the PS3 when it was launched, or it could just mean that they want to make things better, as they have fixed some things on the network regarding friends lists etc. i.e. up until firmware 1.6 friends met didn't work lol

as i pointed out in my other thread, the Ps3 does its online job as i expected, its free you get a few niggles but thats life, i could easly moan about Live features that are missing or not being able to have 40 player match servers and you have to pay for not having this, so for me it neither here nor there, both do their jobs as expected and i enjoy being online on both and thats the joy of owning both.

The 360 is seamlessly integrated into Live. E.g. you can chat while you play, send invite in real time whilst playing, apparently on the Ps3 you can;t do stuff like this E.g. have to leave the game etc. (read this in a recent thread by knives).

Live! Silver membership's enough for many people really, and that's free.

Live! has really been the 360's killer app from the start. It's definately the console's greatest asset.
