This has been going on ever since we got our super duper piece of crap V home hub thing (Virgin 2 in 1 router/modem thing), before on our old Belkin router which was also a piece of crap I got constant 4 bar on my connection, now this thing seems to give me constant 2 bars which is useless as the internet is like waiting for paint to dry and in games I constantly get disconnected from servers and connection interrupted etc. I've tried moving the adapter antenna's about and still nothing, here's the model of the adapter;

YOUR BASKET
1 x TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless N PCI Express Adapter (TL-WN881ND) £16.99
Total : £20.90 (includes shipping : £3.26).

Any help is appreciated and cookies and kisses for whomever helps me resolve this dilemma!

Cheers.

Ditch the wireless and invest in a set of homeplugs, which are network devices which use your house mains power wiring to carry a network connection. Not as cheap as Cat5e wiring but much less obtrusive.

How does it work?

have you changed the wireless channels from auto to manual and set a specific channel on it?

I'm sure it's very complicated and would be interesting to find out but ultimately it's unimportant as long as it just works. Never used them myself. I just run Cat5e because I'm too tight to spend the larger bundle of cash on them.
