Constant blue screen. bad SSD?

Basically, I've had this PC for roughly 8-9 months now and it's all good and sweet, rocking that GTA 5.

But now (for about a month or so) I keep getting random blue screens every once in a while ( maybe twice a week or so ) and immediate restart which then gets to a screen where it says "No bootable device detected" . This happens right after the blue screen and restart (it won't load windows if I don't unplug the pc itself from the socket).

What is this caused by ? Can the SSD be faulty ? Maybe the SATA cable doesn't sit correctly in the port ? (even though I have checked it and it looks like it does).

I am also up do date with everything so I can't say it's drivers or something else...

Here's a pic of what it shows.

Is your BIOS on the latest?

Replace the sata cable and check power to it.

Does the SSD appear in the BIOS?

It is the latest bios but not the beta and yeah i might try replacing the sata. Not quite sure what you mean by checking the power to it though.

The SSD does appear in the BIOS when the pc works normally but when this error comes up, no bootable device appears

There might be a newer firmware for the SSD, but its not one that I have heard is problematic.

You got it on the Intel SATA ports?

Is this the MX100 in your SIG? My dads PC has the same drive and had exactly the same symptoms as yours. Ended up RMA'ing it and now it works tickety boo

Not saying that it's RMA time and it's the same problem, but be prepared for the worst :(

To be fail I'm not sure in which ports it's plugged in but when I put everything together I made a post on here and you guys told me which goes where for better performance.

And about RMA.. Well I hope it won't be the case since it's all through finance and I'm not sure if I can only send the SSD back -.- ... I'd rather buy an SSD than send the whole rig back, hell no.

I would even get the HDD of the greys and onto black.

And then disable the marvel control within the BIOS as one less thing to have to power up/boot/check.

Just to check, when the drive isn't detected, turning the PC off and then on again "fixes" the problem and the drive works again?

Ohh okay :P I can do that in the morning.

Yep, that is exactly what happens. But not just a simple turn off because that won't fix it. I need to cut the power (either unplug or turn off the PSU) in order for it to work again.

:( Don't want to say it but exactly the same happened with us

Hopefully you can solve it with an easier means though!

Serial number might be on the drive. Maybe they just go of that, all you have to do is ask OcUK or Crucial.

http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/support-contact

Three ways of contact, live chat, phone, email.

I was actually there right now looking around but I'll have to contact them tomorrow with a serial number since I won't open the case right now. Hopefully they can fix this.

Crucial have decent support, so you should be fine there. If you bought from ocuk, a screenshot of the order summary will suffice as proof of purchase, though invoice is nicer
