Hi, I can't source why this PC is constantly whining or buzzing. It's not beeping though - well it doesn't sound like beeping although it seems to be coming from the motherboard.

I've put my ear to the PSU - because I thought that was why. I've ran Vista's memory diagnostics test and it reported no problems. The issue is that there is no stability problems. They don't get crashes or BSOD.

The noise can be both intermittent and pro-longed. Sometimes rebooting shuts the sound up. But it sounds like a constant electrical buzzing/whine. What could be the problem?

It's also not coming from the GFX fan either.

Spec: Gigabyte DS3, Intel E6300, 1GB RAM, GeForce 7300.

If it's a buzz it's most likely to be coming from your PSU or mobo, more like the PSU where all the voltage changes take place. If it's a whine that also could be coming form the mobo or psu, but again it could be one of the fans. I'm no expert on this though so don't take my word for it.

What sort of PSU are you using, like manufacturer etc. ?

I got the same problem......then my Mobo died :( Not saying you have the same problem though - it wasn't the same as yours either, it was a LanParty. My noise was comming from a capacitor on the board! Try a different PSU from a mate or something first (which is what I did). Can't see it being anything other than the PSU, mobo or maybe HD. If it still keeps buzzing be prepared to RMA the board or buy a new one!

Try disconnecting your USB devices, I posted a thread recently about my Logitech G15 making motherboard buzz when LEDs are on.. It would kinda be a relief if someone else had a similar issue, prove I'm not going mental.
