Constant Crashing

I have had a self built system for just over a year now with very little issue, but in the last few weeks I have been getting nothing but random black screen crashing. I'm now worried I have a major problem but do not know where to start in fixing it or what components if any need replacing. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Spec as follows:
MSI Z97 Gaming 7 MB
i5 4690k CPU
8 GB RAM
Powercolor 290 GPU
EVGA G2 850W PSU
256 GB SSD for OS
1TB Hard Drive

All are currently running at stock. I did have GPU over clocked but since having issues I've reverted to stock. One thing that might be the cause is TriXX software was giving me some problems. I used this to over clock which included increasing the voltage offset. I'm wondering that by removing this software and reverting to stock that the GPU isn't getting enough volts. Can you do voltage offset on afterburner?

Cheers for your reply. It doesn't happen under load necesarily. The system doesn't cut out together. Sometimes the system run an hour or so before the black screen or sometimes it can be shortly after start up. Ocassionally it would crash after the bios screen but this seems to have been fixed by a bios update.

Taken the 290 out. Now just trying to get the plugs out of the mobos HDMI ports to connect a display :(

Edit: Pliers to the rescue.... running on integrated graphics now so lets see how it goes.

I had a system with a Radeon 7870 that exhibited exactly the same symptoms. Turned out to be a duff GPU. Once I'd changed it for an Nvidia card, no issues at all.

I'd read somewhere that it may have been drivers but no matter what I tried I couldn't resolve it without spending money.

If I end up getting a new card it will be Nvidia for sure. As I wasn't planning on needing a new card right now I'll probably have to get a 970.

Edit: Can i throw a theory out there for you guys. I've read on this thread that the powercolor core voltage should be +50mV to support the out of the box OC. Is it possible that when I have remove Trixxx and installed afterburner it has reset the core voltage.

I've had the card since Aug/Sep 2014 though. Will they accept a return?

Powercolor support seems awful so I'm really hoping OCUK can help me out.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go the RMA route. System as being running for hours without issue since removing the card.

Just an update. RMA'd the card and OCUK have sent it to Powecolor for repair or replacement.

Has anybody been in the same situation with Powercolor and what was the end result?
