Constant disk activity from services.exe!

HDD activity light is running constantly for the whole time even on idling!

I have just got tracked it down to services.exe using Filemon but it doesn't show disk activity for sub-services of services.exe!

I have looked everywhere on the net, no luck and it's driving me mad!

Anyone has similar problem before?

vista? if so, a format and install won't work very well.

disable windows defender in services.msc

Sorry, it's Windows XP.

I guess XP system files got corrupted somehow. Currently installing XP now...
