Constant disk usage (Vista)

Hi All,

I've just re-installed vista on my machine and have noticed from the resource monitor that the hard drisk is constantly active (5MB-20MB/sec) anyone got any ideas why this is?

Ive disabled any scheduled tasks i can think of, as well as indexing and system restore.

Specs:

i7 920
6GB RAM
ATi 4870x2
Windows Vista Business

I've found this dramatically reduced after SP2 installation - my disk is pretty quiet now, just like XP

Of course when you first boot up the disk remains busy for quite a while, I don't think there is a lot you can do about that

It should calm down after a couple of days

I love how people disable as many of the useful features of Vista as soon as possible, even though if they just let them finish, it calms down
