My gran got a new laptop and the updates for Windows 8 have appeared to killed it. It's the updates that are need to go up to 8.1. Restarted the laptop and it has failed to configure the updates, and now it is stuck in a constant loop of preparing for automatic repair, diagnosing PC, turning off, turning back on, and going back to preparing.
I can't get into the BIOS or boot menu or anything.
I have a feeling that the laptop is FUBAR considering I have tried a new hard drive and it's still looping.
Any suggestions from the gurus?
EDIT: just noticed that it cuts out after 'repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete' for a split second.
