First post here looking for advice for a problem with overclockers prebuild.

I bought a prebuild in 2019 and it ran with little problems until recently when i tried to upgrade the ram. Initially I tried to add 2 more sticks of ram to the existing but that was unstable and wouldn’t post half the time. I tried again by replacing the original with 2 sticks of 16gb, but ran into the same problems. After updating the bios and resetting through CMOS and few times it was still unstable, however now that i’ve put the original ram back in the problems persist.

Could anyone give me some advice on this issue, should I revert the bios back to its original settings? XMP has been enabled and i am testing without but 2400mhz memory is not ideal.

Specs:
Ryzen 7 2700x
zotac rtx2070 amp extreme core edition
gigabyte b450 aorus elite

original ram: nighthawk 16gb(2x8) ddr4 3000mhz PC4-24000C16

1st ram upgrade: crucial 16gb(2x8) ddr4 3200mhz CT2K8G4DFRA32A
2nd: crucial pro 32gb(2x16) 3200mhz CP2K16G4DFRA32A

Is it stable without XMP enabled? Have you tried increasing the voltage slightly to the RAM or tried different slots?
seems to be stable without xmp at 2400 but still testing, using slots 2 and 4 and changing them doesn’t seem to make a difference. I was hoping to use a higher clock speed for my ram than 2400mhz. Without xmp I’ll try increasing to 2800.

Is the new RAM using the same settings and in the same slots? Note that if you're having problems in Windows, there is a possibility that unstable RAM can corrupt files saved to your SSD.

Afaik the 2700X isn't really ideal for running 4 sticks, these CPUs had fairly weak memory controllers, but running 2 sticks shouldn't be too bad.

Note that the latest BIOS on these boards might not be well optimised for Zen+.

I think you need to delete those links and just post the ram details because they are a competitor.

CT2K8G4DFRA32A
CP2K16G4DFRA32A

I quickly looked up the second set and they appear to be CAS 22 which seems slow to me when most of the 3200 RAM Overclockers sell looks like its CAS 16, I think CAS 14 was the high end stuff.

Have you considered buying a newer AM4 cpu for that "gigabyte b450 aorus elite" to take advantage of the performance improvements and the better memory controller which would help fix your memory problems?

Maybe send the kit back and get one rated for 3200 C16 so you can make the most of it if you ever decide to upgrade the CPU?

Clear the CMOS and try to manually run at 3200 without enabling XMP. Is the BIOS on your board stock form Gigabyte or provided through the OEM/Prebuild company?
