Hello,

Just plugged everything back in after a custom water loop install and my mobo showed a bios checksum error then went on to load windows. After 10 seconds or so the internal speaker came on constantly no breaks in the sound at all. I shut the rig down and restarted it, same thing, constant post beeps but still boots into windows.

Any idea what this might be? I did not remove the ram at all during the installation. I am using a Gigabyte 990FAX-UD3 board.

Cheers,

Is the beeping a warning because you don't have a fan plugged into the CPU fan header?

There should be an option in the BIOS to ignore it if no fan is plugged in.

Are the gpu power connectors seated properly? Ive had the constant tone before when the connectors werent secured properly.

Thanks guys, I was in a panic then :/

I have gone into the BIOS setting and there was a boot from safe or something similar. Did that and she is running fine. Looks like the only thing it change was the CPU temp warnings.

Thanks for the quick answers. Now going to power it off and wait for Skyrim.

Mike

That's with Nvidia cards.

I've experienced the noise and seem to remember it as more as a shreek than a beep.
