Constant restarts

hi, recent had a problem with one of my comps, its constantly restarting and im getting no display. The problem started with no video on screen so i checked the cables at back on comp and monitor and picture came back just thought it was loose cable but it went off again and i couldnt get it back on, the pc gave me the 1 long 2 short beeps, the card was a old 850xt so i thought it finally died, so i stuck in a agp card very cheap one cant even remember its name but it still wasnt displaying any images when the pc boot up however the beeping stopped and the computer started restarting by its self ever 3-4 seconds and i still wasnt getting any image.

Now it wont even stay on for 1 second it just goes on and off unless i turn it off at the back i tried reseting the ram and disconnecting all other components but things seem to be worse.

i cant remember exact names of board or cpu, but the mobo was a gigabyte cheap one socket 775

celeron lga775
onboard sound
850 xt gfx
4 gig ddr 2
500 watt psu
 
can you find out what the bsod code was? if it's possibly, it might point toward whats causing the issue,

also have you tried booting into safe mode?
think it's hold F8 after the post screen for a advanced booting options list ;)
 
I cant even get to the post and i didnt see the bsod soz, how ever if i take out the 4 pin connector on the mobo it boots up but i dont have a gfx card to see if im gettin output, the psu is only 4-5 months old its a icute 500 watt
 
the only 4 pin socket on a motherboard should be the cpu header, which is either 4 pin or an 8pin, removing that would result in the machine not booting,
 
well when i have everything connected the pc boots up and restarts nearly straight away i dont get any display, i took out the 4 pin connector beside the cpu and boot it up and it stays on though ive still no display
 
tried it still no pic but i think my gfx card is dead to its a old 850xt and it was the first piece of hardware to stop working before the constant restarts , ive gota 8800gtx tht died a while back stuck it in the oven and it worked for couple of months but im gettin no video from it either, might take the card from this machine 5870 brand new if it gets damaged ill cry
 
tried an old agp card which should work as it wasnt really used and no luck, rite gonna try the psu with my mobo see if it works, thanks for the help btw
 
I plugged the gigabye mobo into my working 850 watt asoka psu, it wouldnt work came on for a split second and that was it, i plugged the 500 watt icute psu into my current P5E mobo just to see if would power it up and it did, however it just came on as a loud constant beep, but i only had a 4 pin plug for a 8 pin socket mobo maybe tht was the cause. Anyways looks like the mobos dead unless anyone else has an idea
 
yeah i'd say dead mobo, dunno what else to suggest, does it still have warranty? you could RMA it for a new working board?
