i have had windows xp pro installed on my pc for nearly 2 years now.

my main browser is i.e. i have been getting constant timeouts while surfing on any webpage. i thought this was a problem with i.e so i downloaded opera and got the same problems.

when i mentioned this to a mate, he straight away said i should download mozilla, which i did. for half an hour mozilla was like, bullet speed. now i am getting the same timeouts on all 3 browsers.

this is a massive pain, especially when i am internet shopping/online banking or even replying to threads.

i thought my os system was messed up with some sorta virus. i have search and destroy installed aswel as malwarebytes. my anti virus is bitdefender total security 2008. all are kept updated and ran weekly.

i decided to install windows 7 on a partition and i am getting the same timeouts constantly. surfing is a pain in the butt.

my isp is o2 and the main line that comes in from outside is connected to the rg11/router.

does anyone have aany suggestions.

thanks.

i have another pc that is connected to the network and only has ie installed, as a browser. that system runs fine.

i have just changed my dns servers, as per link from Pho.

i will give it a go with the new DNS settings and let you know.

thanks.

i am still getting timeouts, not as bad as before, but enough to bang your head on the all.

any other suggestions?
