So it seems i keep getting random lag in CS:GO lately, not sure on other games as i dont play too much of anything else but I get quite a lot of drops, is there any way to measure this and how I can find what is at fault?

:D:D:D

As above, it would help if you list your specs.

Jesus christ *FACEPALM* hahahaha
Sorry lads, here you go;

AMD 8320 @3.5ghz
MSI 990FXA-GD65
Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz 8gb
Sapphire Reference R9 290
Corsair CS750M

Also on 200mbps Virgin, was getting lag spikes a few weeks ago but that was ping and has since sorted itself due to virgin doing upgrades from 150 to 200 for free :D ;)

There you go hahaha sorry lads, was half 11 ;)

in console put in net_graph 1

will give you a constant on screen display to show your FPS. keep an eye on it during gaming and see how much it goes down by.

check the temps of the CPU and GPU, this can be done suing MSI afterburner.

my GPU reaches 92C when gaming and then throttles which causes my fps to drop lol i use MSI afterburner to increase the fan speed from default settings

No overclock on the 8320 and 990fx combo!, the shame! haha. If your temps check out give it a go, if I recall cs go likes high ipc.

I used to have it but my pc crashed a lot and that was the thing i blamed so put it back to stock!
My pc seems to just be crashing randomly now :/
Not only on csgo, but when doing nothing really... Like listening to music and on Chrome, it will all of a sudden crash and cause a stupidly loud static noise!

Sounds odd! Out of interest download cpu-z and prime95, whilst prime95 is running keep an eye on the cpu clock speed and look for fluctuations. It's a sure fire way to see if the cpu is throttling. Before you do any of that though I'd suggest getting hwmonitor and checking temps etc, hard locks could be any number of things. When you get the static is that on a bsod?

Sorry mate, didn't see your message the other day!
Havent had a freeze/crash for a few days but CSGO keeps getting random lag spikes!

do you have a blower type cooler on the GPU?
my old 290 would struggle to play games because of the cooler. if you open catalyst under performance you can turn of the 20% fan limit it will stop the card hitting the 95c tep limit and stop your drops

Unfortunately not mate :/ Could be at fault though... Think ill replace that with the pc upgrades :p

Worth checking the connections on your psu, had the same problems you described for over a month, one day i smelt burning and found my GPU connector melted to the psu.

Wasn't a rubbish psu either sea sonic x gold just goes to show it can happen to anyone.
