After doing a fresh install of windows 10 i have noticed a number of times where i will turn the PC on and notice that im not getting a display on the screen at all, if i reset the PC then it seems to fix the issue and displays fine.

I have noticed when im having these issues after the mobo/windows 10 boot screen i will get a band across the screen approx inch width with garbled graphics, any ideas what the issue could be? hopefully its not my graphics card crapping out as only had it about 6 months

having spent ages recently with an intermittent problem I was convinced was software, turned out a lead was loose, so double check every signal and power cable is firmly in!

Did you have the no signal problem before the windows reinstall or have you also connected the GTX 1070 using a DP connection recently?

The intermittent no display on boot is not an uncommon problem with the GTX 1070 (when using a DP connection) - i have similar issues.

However, i don't get the graphical interference in windows - so you may have one common issue (if using a DP) mixed with a different problem - or they could both be related.

If you are using a DP connector have you tried a different cable - preferably a vesa compliment cable? Or try a different port or even a different interface - HDMI.

If you're not using the DP - try a different output on the gfx card and a different cable.

Have you checked idle/stress temps etc?

EDIT: Excuse all the edits - was watching the GP at the same time...

Im indeed using a DP cable, all cables seem to be secure. I have noticed that when i get this issue i dont always get the garbled graphics but my ASUS monitor does report 'no signal detected' which seem odd as it was detecting a signal as i do the display for my mobo logo, i have never had this issue before i did a fresh format and install of windows 10 and i never loss the display once windows has actually loaded only ever on booting into windows dose this issue happen

You sound like your describing the cold boot issue that is common with the 10 series cards using the DP - and the display, when windows drivers kick in, is usually when the signal appears if it does.

Are you using a quality DP v1.2 cable and is it vesa compliant? (mines not vesa compliant but it is good quality - not stupid money quality - just not a couple of quid quality)

Also how long is your cable?

** Try this - it will sound odd - but try unplugging your monitor from the wall for ten minutes - and press it's power button to deplete all power. Then plug back in and test.
