Hey,

My little brother is currently unemployed and I've been considering taking a plumbing course just so I can deal with things around the house as they pop up. Having all met up over Christmas my mum mentioned that they had considered construction, and more specifically plumbing courses for my brother but they were several thousand pounds.

He could do a normal college but its at least a 32 week course, I work full time and all sorts of hours so that isn't an option for me. Having spent 15 mins searching earlier I found this : http://www.tradeteacher.co.uk/courses/10-day-plumbing-and-heating-course-city-guilds-accredited

10 day course, city & guilds qualification all for £800. Worth it? Anyone done anything similar? Any tradesmen out there care to have a look and see if they think its worth it? :)

Course for me is for me to do stuff around the house, but to give my brother a foot on the ladder, and plumbing itself isn't that complicated once you have the basics, not like heating or electrics.

Plus, a city & guilds qualification is recognised by everyone as far as I am aware. I know 10 days isn't long regarding experience, but if it does result in a recognised qualification then surely it's got to be worth it?
