Contact issue?

Would you say this is normal for a 2700X to shoot from 36c to 45c then back down rinse repeat when doing absolutely nothing just at desktop?

I can see some of the cores are boosting,Which could explain why the sudden temp rise,Why i dont know because its literally sitting at the desktop but i guess background tasks are doing that even though i only have AVG antivirus & Xonar software launched.

Yeah sounds like background tasks
Can check by sitting in the bios
Once temps stop rising
It shouldn't spike in bios

il check in the bios see what it does

Might get me some artic silver 5 on order as this white stuff i got probably aint the best.

I think that sounds normal for the temp to shoot up from 36 to 45ºC at idle as there are background tasks running. what cpu cooler do you have?
reapplying the thermal paste wont hurt (thermal grizzly kryonaut is generally the best but may scratch your cpu if you have get an old bad batch).
