Thinking of getting some of those one day contacts, never tried them before is there any real differance between the brands? I have my prescription from last time i had my eyes tested, can i just order some myself from online?

TIA

Yes, you can just order them online. I think I used contactlenses.co.uk before I had laser eye surgery.

I notice that the daily contacts feel thinner than monthlies and more comfortable to wear although there are reports of people using dailies as monthies as they say they are the same thing!

I used focus dailies and found them good.

EDIT: BIG THING. I assumed you were on monthlies and wanted to try dailies. If you have never used contacts before go to an optician for a check up again. They will show you how to put them in and take them out - this is very important you need a specialist to help you.

doh :p

You also need to get the measurements for your eyes so that the contact lenses fit...

I'd suggest going into the opticians, at least initially, if after you've had them for a while and are happy with them you want to simply order online then that's up to you but you are better off getting them done properly to start with. If you've got astigmatism in one eye then that changes the prescription for instance. Any optician should offer free aftercare with the lenses you buy so you'll have at least one or two check ups to ensure there are no problems.

This is good advice. I went from using glasses to daily wear monthly lenses with specsavers and although my right eye is definitely worse than my left (short sighted), my contact lense strength in both eyes is the same to get 20/20 vision again. You also get told your specific wear time with each type of lense as well if your optician is good and you get a month trial for free also where you really do get use to living with them. I can wear mine at the moment upto 16 hours daily and I have the "elite" range which specsavers do. Theres a version above mine but the optician said they are pointless to have for my eyes due to a abnormality with my tearducts.
