So I'm currently rocking the absolutely wonderful LG 34GK950F, without a doubt the best monitor I've ever owned. With touching lucky enough to get a 3080 and the card absolutely decimating everything I throw at it, I'm wondering if there's a comparable 4k option? If it's worth it what do you guys recommend?

Ideally I'm looking for something 34" ultrawide, can't go much bigger as don't have the room. Nano-IPS or similar and at least 144hz and with hopefully decent HDR. I really don't know what my options are, though ideally I'd like to keep the budget as close to £1,000.00 as possible if it's doable yet?

I mean the obvious answer is jumping up to the 38" LG. Its not-quite-4K but i think its the perfect ultrawide resolution...

TBH If you want a decent sized screen, 32"+ and a good refresh rate of at least 100hz, there is nothing out there without a ridiculous price tag.
We either have a 3440x1440 monitor for UW or 60hz monitors for standard 16:9 over 32"
Thats without going into the flaws just about every monitor has of some sort !
If you are limited to 60hz, may as well buy a tv as most have a gaming mode for lower latency than pay the OTT prices for a "monitor" IMO.

1440p isnt going to get the best out of the current gen graphics cards, so what JGF111 says, hits the sweetspot for resulution with good refresh rates.
But it only does 75hz through HDMI, no idea of max refresh rate through DP1.4 (but I suspect its bandwith limited) you can hower use "thunderbolt for 144hz , but no idea if VRR is supported over thunderbolt.
I am not sure if you can get a HDMI 2.1 to thunderbolt adapter ? if you can then you should, at least in theory, get 120hz.
Having said that, looking down nvidia list it specifies an LG 38GL950G with the same res to do 1-175hz over gsync.

But at £1600 the LG 38WN95C aint cheap !
The LG 38GL950G is a litlle less at £1300 but still pricey.

I had this exact decision to make last week, due to my old screen getting nicked.

The 38GL950G looks like an awesome monitor for the money, it has a hardware gsync module too which is absolutely better than freesync in performance, unfortunately it's limited to display port 1.4 so the max usable refresh it can support so 144hz 8bit or 120hz 10bit, the fidelity loss of chroma subsampling is not worth it to achieve higher refresh rates.
The big caveat is that the gsync module restricts you to Nvidia cards for best performance, and there are some reports of the integrated fan being quite noisy.

Failing that the 38WN95 / 38GN950 is are similarly excellent performers but quite bad value since they are both more expensive and yet do not feature a gsync module, so only really worth it if you want the freedom to go AMD

The 34GN850 is the little brother and will do 144hz 10bit or 160hz 8bit , the lower rez means it's saturating the display port at a higher refresh. But at £1000 it's a lot of money for a 34" UW.

I went with the 34" as the most versatile long term solution with fewest compromises but there's definitely a part of me that does the calculation on £ per pixel and shakes his head

Jump to 4k... or stay on uw 1440p... or go a bit higher at 1600p...

LG27GN950 : Fine but when you are used to uw...small.

38GN950 yeah but qui expensive compared to LG 34GN850... but this 38 is less expensive than the GL here in my country.

At same price, plus or minus, You also have the TV monitor LG 48 OLED CX 4K HDMI 2.1-120 FPS. If you can put space between you and the screen. User reported headache after using this for FPS...

Maybe the asus rog swift pg43uq 4k 144hz....smaller than 48 and a bit bigger than 38, for nearly same price but VA...inducing ghosting in fast fps...showing you the review below. Size was perfect and the monitor could have been a good choice... but no.

I am in the same boat...about to change and make new rig in few weeks to last long for the future...and when I see the benchmarks results, new nvidia cards give perfs in high resolutions.

And no 32 inch 120-144fps (hdmi 2.1) gsync 4k...

LG CX 48

Asus 43 :

There is a distinct lack of 32" and above 4K monitors. If I didn't plan on using next consoles it i'd go ultrawide and not look back, tho.

Congratz.

I am more and more going towards 4k 32 inch. And even if there is nothing above 60hz at the moment I think that will be my direction... but which one in 2020... with good colors, gsync or freesync, 60hz...va or ips...local dimming, fald...

There are quite a lot of models to check...
Any ideas ?

Why is this one not available yet :(

Aye, 120 mimimum is what I thought.
Pcars 2 max settings 4k I got an average 110fps over a lap with maximum amount of AI cars in the rain.
I'll try 120hz 10 bit and 160hz 8 bit and see which I prefer :)
