Hey Guys,

So here's my rig:

Athlon 64 3700+
2GB DDR 400
nVidia 7800GT
250GB HDD SATA I
80GB HDD IDE

etc etc...

In all fairness for most things that I do on my PC at the moment its fine, I can run CS:S, BF2142, C&C3 all at high/highest settings at 1280x1024. Vista doesn't like my PC regardless of the RAM, so i think my single core CPU is struggling with that, but at the mo XP/Ubuntu wll do fine.

Also, I haven't noticed any games this year (so far) that have warrent me thinking about upgrading. Crysis/Unreal Tournament 3/Enemy Territory etc seem to be a good lineup but they wont be coming until the 4th quarter of the year (i think)

So basically what do you guys think about my current spec and my upgrade options? Obviously nothing specific at the moment regarding components but a general idea.

Any input would be appreciated

Cheers

David

I'm of the same idea, so I'm waiting to see how much a quad-core and motherboard etc will be.

Also, the 8800's are expected to drop.

Depends what you wanna spend, but thats the direction I'm heading.

If is running every thing fine apart from vista just I'd flea bay the 3700 for £20-£30 and buy a new x2 3800 for £58.74 .The X2 should hold it's value realy well they sell for more than that on flea bay lol. Hey some socket a cpu's go for more than £75 lol.

Meh, i dont feel like doing minor upgrades if im doing a new rig sometime soon.
