Hi,

Setup is as per sig below. Currently cooling on air using Scythe Infinity (lapped) for CPU and Thermalright HR05 for northbridge. On current E6300 overclock at 3.2Ghz getting 50C idle and 62C load (high I know) vcore 1.35v.
System is fairly quiet as I run the fans just over 5v using Zalman fan controller.

Am seriously considering going to water cooling for low temps and for quietness.

Few questions:
1. Kit or custom parts?
2. If so which parts (pump, rad, res, CPU block etc)
3. How easy is it to drain a watercooled setup whilst it is in the case? I am worried about leaks.
4. Does anyone use 'non-conducting' liquid, and if so which one?
5. How much maintenance does wc need?
6. How quiet are the pumps?

Thanks guys

im new to waterocooling but i found a good shop and got recommended a custom kit

my kit was purchased last week and i got

Alphacool Laing DDC 12V ULTRA Pump & Plexitop

Thermochill PA120.2 (the size rad you get depends on your case more than anything

Swiftech MCW30 Chipset cooler (this depends on your mobo what you need but this fits most)

D-TEK FuZion CPU Block (it was between this and the Swiftech Apogee GTX Extreme) either are brilliant

XSPC 5 1/4" Bayres

i use non conductive fluid i chose feser1 as its ready mixed with a uv reactive dye and its a straight add in

the pump i got is quieter than my yate loons on 12v

dont forget you will need barbs ( i used 1/2" barbs)
tubing (7/16th tubing is good as its a really snug fit so less chance of any leaks)

clips are also needed for the pipes

ptfe tape is required for the radiator barbs only (the shop may do this for you)

if you send me a message in trust or msn ill give you any help i can and point you in the right direction

I had a e6300 @ 3.2 with scythe ninja in a Akasa Mirage case and the load temps went up to 64 underload. I fitted a Swiftech Apex Ultra kit and load temps are now 48 (running small ffts) with the fans running at 5v and the pump on the second lowest setting out of 5. I cannot hear the pump and the fans are very quiet, you can fit your own 120mm fans if you want quiter ones but I have no probs with the stock fans.
