Conti 4 Season Road Tyre

I see more people opting for 28mm. I'm about 85kg and ride 25mm on normal roads. My road bike has clearance for 28mm, will they be any better?

There are a few articles around that talk about tyre deformation and rolling resistance. I'm a bit busy to dig them out atm but they're kind of interesting/geeky reads. Bottom line though is that there are lots of benefits and few, if any, downsides.

It's all marginal and certainly won't affect any of our riding! 25mm tyres have lower rolling resistance than 23mm but are also less aero.

25mm tyres run at appropriate pressures for your weight is probably the best all round for comfort and performance.

Although, 23mm front and 25mm rear for the Pro look.

I had that setup a little while ago due to being lazy about swapping out my front 23mm. I did prefer the way it looked but there's definitely less road buzz with 25mm on the the front :)

As you say, there's not a huge amount in it regarding performance and as such it makes sense to get something comfortable.
