Continuous beep from Gigabyte motherboard is.....

what exactly?

Basically, brother's graphics card died. With help from an OcUK member we got him a 8800GT which he's just installed. He turned on and the beep is continuous?

I asked him to take the battery out for 5 minutes and try again, which told him about CMOS error, he defaulted the CMOS again and then it continued to load up perfectly...but the sound is continuous?

Any suggestions guys?

Try reseating the graphics card and power to the card.

I can only hope he has, as we had a discussion about the power cable prior. I have asked him also to reseat it....buggered off the phone now for his tea so I'll check soon.

Have you not got the manual?
it should tell you in there what all he beeps mean.

Continuous beep with an nvidia card is usually power.
The beep might appear to be coming from the mobo but might in fact be coming from the card.
Make sure he reseats and plugs the power in.

Hopefully all will be well.

Fixed!

I think it just wasn't seated right, thank god!

Just got him to run driver sweeper and install latest drivers so hopefully thats all sorted!
