Hello there,

My system keeps restarting itself for some unknown reason during the boot sequence, I can't even get into the bios, it just keeps restarting at the same point.

That point, is just before it would normally reach the windows logo. I did wake up to my computer displaying an error (small error box with a red cross), and I couldn't move the mouse or keyboard, as it was just frozen on the desktop, it also had a small bubble window in the bottom right-hand corner. I can't remember what it said, but I think it was something like 'unable to write......'

This is the second time this has happened, but the first time, it would boot a little further and was able to get into the bios. This time it restarts, when I try to get into the bios, and I can't even boot from a CD.

My system is that in my siginature, and I also use this PSU

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If you can't even access the bios then i'd reset the CMOS.

I had this recently too - moved a PC from one house to another and it wouldn't boot after that. Reset CMOS and hey presto worked fine.

Hey, thanks for the response, I tried what you said but got the following error:

CMOS Checksum error - defaults loaded

Any ideas?

Also, it's not the battery, as I've changed that.
