Got a Galaxy S2 at the moment and it's done everything I've asked of it but as my contract is up next month is it worth upgrading to something else or is anything else really just not worth the extra and save some cash by going SIM only? The S II has had a charging issue when i really thought it was broken but I managed to factory reset it and it's been Ok since. I have no interest in an iphone 5, so it's probably Galaxy note II or S3, but I'm thinking the note II is really too big which leaves the S3. A worthwhile upgrade?

Not in my opinion. I've had a play with the S3, and have a couple of friends with them, and have no desire to upgrade from my S2 at the end of its contract. The only phone which really appeals is the Nokia 920, but I'm not sure about leaving Android having bought so far into the app system.

nexus 4?

also HTC just released the droid DNA with 1080p. if Samsung want to compete they'll launch soon. also there have been some rumours of a galaxy s iv 4 in December. that would have been surprising and unlikely but for the droid DNA.

Went sim only eventually. They couldn't do any better than £35 a month, 2 year contract on a free S3 so kept my S2 and went down to 250 minutes, 3000 texts and 1GB internet for £10 per month, rolling 30 day contract and we'll see what happens early next year.

It depends on how much you want a new phone. Upgrade if there is a phone you want or go SIM only if you are not fussed. There is a great site I use for comparing SIM only deals called comparisim. It's good because you can see all the deals from all the networks next to each other. I found my current SIM only deal there but I am going to upgrade soon anyway because my HTC Hero handset is a little dated to say the least! It's definately cheaper to upgrade to a new contract phone than to buy the phone outright and then go SIM only.
