Contract Question

I'm due an upgrade on Wednesday, Contract doesn't expire until August however, Am I right in thinking that I can go into a shop in town, say Phones4U, or CPW, and do my upgrade through them even though my contract isn't finished?

Dont go to Phones4U they are crap. They ended up costing a mate of mine money through the assistants lies.

Is there any difference in upgrading rather than taking out a new contract other than losing your number?

I guess by upgrading you're getting a new phone like 3 months early? As when you're due an upgrade its usually 90 days before your current contract ends.

Ahh yeah. Annoyingly for some reason T-Mobile decided I could only upgrade 18 months into my 18 month contract even though I was told I could after 15.

So now I'm just looking to go with any carrier which has good coverage around my area.
