Contracts with free stuff...

Ok since the wife is on pay as you go, we thought what the hey and get her a contract. And since GTA4 is upon us soon..

Now Ive been reading about these freebies that they give away with certain contracts e.g. typical ones Ive see are around 30 quid a month on a 12 month contract and get a free PS3 (200 mins, 200 texts or something like that).

Whats the word on these? Are they decent?

You get a crap phone and a crap contract.
Cheaper just to buy a 360 or PS3.

Phone were not bothered about.
One deal was for 400 minutes and 400 texts with O2 at £30 quid a month which equates to 360 quid and they also have a 60 quid cash back and throw in a free PS3.

So to me it looks like you get a substandard phone (Samsung J700 or the other) with 400 minutes and texts, and a free PS3 (which wouldve cost around 300 quid anyway).

Does that sound sussed? Its with a company called e2save.com

You dont get it for free, you've made your mind up though so go for it.

The way I saw it was that your getting a contract with some decent minutes + texts for 300 quid a year with the PS3 and handset right? Or am I missing something.

£30 x 12 months = £360 PS3 = £250
£360 - £250 =  £110
£110 / 12 = £9.16

Based on what you said it seems a good deal.

EDIT - From that site you posted the cheapest I can find a deal for including ps3 is £35 and 18 month contract. Also all the phones seem pretty naff. Therefore this just seems an expensive way of buying a ps3 and mobile contract.

And dont forget the 60 quid cashback!

See thats how I worked it out. Except I said that the PS3 was 300 quid instead of 250.

I.e. 360 (for contract) - 60 (cashback) -300 (PS3) = £0
But based upon 250 quid PS3 it will be 50 quid to pay for the year.

Hmm Ill have to dig out that deal again, I may have misread the contract period.
