Contrast Ratio difference between 2 LCD TVs

How much difference is a 1,200:1 Contrast ratio going to be in comparison to a 600:1 ratio?

Now i'm swinging towards the 32LX2R but it has a lower contrast ratio? Some sites say 600:1 and others say 1,200:1
