hey all, so the fans on my 7950 cocked up a month back (fan controller on the card i think) so i was rocking the zip tied fans on the card for a while but i got sick of that so i did some macgyvering and wired the gpu fans to a 3 pin cable so they receive adequate power. have them hooked to my zalman fan controller but it only does 6 to 12v iirc so at 6v its still pretty loud. i know you can only adjust 3 pin headers by voltage so im wondering if theres a way/program where i can plug the fans directly into a header on the board and control the speed of it in relation to the gpu temps? i know you can set up fan curves in afterburner and all that jazz but thats when the fans are connected to the card and not the board. any ideas/help is appreciated cheers.
ive just plugged it to a 4pin header on the board and set the can control it via speedfan, doesnt seem to be an RPM readout (probably because its just the red/black wires connected up) but i can control it fine, now just to automate it.
