So I go into the control panel over the last two days and it says I have three optical drives.

In my Pc I have two optical drives:
-Plextor DVD Rom (H:)
-Plextor DVD writer (I:)

But yet it's listing an (I:) drive as a CD Rom drive in the control panel. I don't understand what's going on. As well today there is a 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon next to the clock in the corner relating to my USB printer...but yet that's switched off and never seen that there before.

M Windows XP is going bonkers. Howevewr, I have installed a trial edition of Power Iso - could it be that?

Anyone help mainly with the optical drive thing :/

Mount ISO file with internal virtual drive. You don't need install any other virtual drive software.

Thats from the list of things poweriso does so it is likely that poweriso installed an extra virtual cd drive to allow you to mount iso images.
If you use, don't worry. If you have no need for it you may want to turn it off in poweriso or uninstall poweriso.
