Control Systems Fans

I am using Gigabyte S Fan to change the speed of my fans and select different modes, ie Quiet, Full speed but upon doing so nothing seems to change with the fans.

the fans just ramp up and down as needed but when i am not doing much the system is it but loud so i just wanted to tweak them.

This worked on my previous Gigabyte board, have i connect something up wrong somewhere?

I contracted Gigabyte support and they asked me update the BIOS to see if it resolves the issue.

Out of interest do a lot of you update your BIOS when a new version is released?

Its suggested that you only update your BIOS when some new features or support are/is introduced or when you are having problems (which you seem to he having). The newer BIOS can get rid of bugs.
