Controller for my PC

I hate seeing a thread where the OP asks a question and no one provides an answer but decides to give recommendations against the clear request.

So in that respect I'd recommend the Logitech Rumblepad 2 since you can pair that with profiler software to imitate a 360 controller, it's wireless, comes with a receiver, fits comfortably in the hand, cheap on fleabay, takes AA batteries and lasts for ages.

In my opinion the OP would be better off spending just a small amount extra and getting a wireless XBOX 360 controller, a controller that is truly plug and play. No pairing and messing around with extra software, it also comes with a receiver, fits comfortably in the hand and takes AA batteries that last for ages.

The Logitech you recommend doesn't appear to have analogue triggers which are a great help in racing games (if you don't have a wheel/pedals)

Let's be honest £25-£30 for a superior gamepad isn't even the price of a AAA game now!

EDIT: Just seen your previous post and am now confused

I'll tell you this; I don't frivolously throw around money and was in the same boat as you a while ago, so the Logitech Rumble Pad 2 controller was my controller of choice. Inevitably I grew tired of finding/configuring profiles for every single game and moved to the wireless 360 pad.

Trust me, it's absolutely outstanding. Every single game supports it out of the box and for some reason the control layout feels so intuitive for every game. I dismissed it initialy as the price was quite high but it's worth every single penny and now I just feel silly for not buying it sooner.

I can recommend the 360 as well I have four of them in the hose and the wireless receiver can handle four controllers, they sometimes pop up for £21-25

For the least possible hassle I would suggest a wired 360 controller.

A lot (or possibly all) the official 360 wireless packs come with a reciever that has a resistor on it that can pop as it's just not up to the job. I have had this happen on two official ones now.
Since buying a replacement third party reciever on a popular auction site this has not happened, bought 2 infact, both work great. Odd situation where the third party product is better than the offical imo.

It's not confusing really. If you've spent more than a few months using any forum you'll see someone create a thread asking a specfic question only for everyone to start making suggestions against the OP's request. Then the OP needs to write a thesis explaining their specific scenareo and why they asked for these things.

So I provided my suggestion and then an answer to OP's specific question with a clear explanation why. Simply put, it's polite forum etiquette.
