Controller PERC 4e/DC - Raid Setup

Right I have made a little boo boo with my RAID - Nothing major but I have a 6 disk RAID 5 and I've added a new disk - I didnt want this disk part of my RAID5 but seems I've added into the RAID

Its Reconstructing now but I want to remove this disk from the RAID5 - Possible?

afaik... you can't, you'll have to backup, delete/recreate array and restore.

Tbh the best people to talk to about this are Dell, they know all the details about their perc controllers and are usually pretty helpful but I don't think you can.

Yeah just called them and they were unsure as well - Same thing backup/delete/create.

Now the reconstructing is causing slowness problems so it is now a problem!

You can't shrink a RAID5 array on the Perc5 or Perc6 either. Would be a nice feature imo.
