My Xbox 360 wireless controller will not work on my mates Xbox 360 premium.

His controller works fine, but when I turn mine on the center button just flashes (basically searching for a 360).

I press'd the button on the front of console for the control pad, and then pressed the one on the controller and it will still not work with his console.

We've checked the batteries etc and they are ok.

Any ideas? Are the controllers unique or something?

Tried powering up the console using your pad first?

If you know both pads work, it could be that your not doing it correctly. However whenever I have used more than one pad, I have never had to press any of the 'connect' buttons, the pads sort themselves out automatically.

What happens when you power up JUST your pad though? Does the 360 start up on its own like its supposed to?

Press the button on the front of the console then HOLD the button on the pad while the ring of light on the console is spinning, should work, did for me anyway, you hold it on the pad not press it like you do on the console.

don't you use the little connect button on the front of the console and the back of the control pad. Has a sign that looks like this
o)))

If you have a plug and play / charge kit then connect it with that.
It'll work fine thereafter. The controller and Xbox do undergo some sort of pairing routine and the funny little buttons should get them to see eachother (as above poster mentioned).
I had a similar thing but after connecting via the play and charge all was well.
